The devil likes to take shots at us on a daily basis. It does not take a genius to recognize that. Sickness, discouragement, hurtful words, depression and reminders of your past have always been his modus operandi. Nothing new there.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. - Ephesians 6:16

When Goliath threatened the Israelite army, it was David's faith that eventually moved him to action to defeat the giant. Goliath had been taking cheap shots at the Israelites for days. Insult after insult and discouragement after discouragement, Goliath managed to cause the people of God to cower in fear. David did not accept it, though. He did not just sit down and say "Well, I am only a boy. And after all my older brothers who are trained warriors have not even attempted to tackle this giant so who am I to go against this terrible giant ?" No ! David was not going to accept the shots because he believed that the God who had given him victory over the lion and the bear in the wilderness while he tended his father's sheep was able to also give him victory over this obstacle. We know the rest of the story (the whole account is in 1 Samuel 17).
Take up your shield of faith today. In the last two posts, I wrote on how important faith is and how we can grow in our faith. Do not let the enemy's shots at you discourage you from living out God's purpose and plan for your life. Do not allow the enemy to steal your testimony by telling you, you will not make it.
Rise up ! Take up your shield of faith and block those fiery darts Satan is throwing your way.
Prayer : Father in Jesus Name, I pray for anybody reading this blog today. I pray that you will strengthen each and everyone of them by the power of your Holy Spirit. Father I thank you that you are helping us by Your Spirit to take up our shield of faith and block all those fiery darts of the enemy. Thank you for making us more than conquerors through the Name of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:37). I thank you that we have overcome the world by faith (1 John 5:4). Amen.
