I had another thought-occuring moment today : If a person were to focus on all the things that are "wrong" in any given season of life, that person would never be happy. Thus, God in His wisdom gave one solution : BE CONTENT.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. - I Timothy 6:6-8
The Word of God is clear : it is God's will for us to be happy everyday ! We can live a joy-filled life regardless of our current life challenges. The key, according to God's Word is to be content. I have nothing against the ambition to be successful in life. However, when we become completely consumed with those goals to the point where we cannot function unless "this" happens or unless "that" happens , that is when we have crossed over into discontentment and essentially sin.
I have determined that I am going to live an abundant life because that is what Jesus died to give me (John 10:10). This abundant life is not based on what I have and what I do not yet have. This abundant life is based on realizing that all things are mine in Jesus Christ and that through Him , I am more than a conqueror (Romans 8: 37).
