Radically Different : Praying Like We Mean It

What if we prayed like we meant it ? What would happen in our homes, marriages, our cities and countries ? What if we prayed such audacious prayers that people literally thought we were going crazy ? When are we as Christians going to move away from begging and crying (as if God is some tyrant ready to whip us !) and " I hope God hears my prayers"-kind of prayers to believing that God has heard our prayers and will move in response to our prayers in the Name of His Son Jesus Christ ? Today I will not waste my breath on what God can do in response to our prayers. I am simply going to GIVE you the Scriptures that say so.

So what radical statements did Jesus make about prayer?

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Mark 11:23-24

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me keep my commandments

John 14:13-15

Listen to something else from Jeremiah.

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me ?

Jeremiah 32:27

God is not a tyrant. He loves us and He loves more than anything for His children to rely on Him for our every need. If Jesus says we can speak to mountains in our lives and they will move (Mark 11:23), why aren’t we moving more mountains in our lives? Let’s stop praying in unbelief, wringing our fingers and only “hoping” that God will hear us. I've prayed those kind of prayers and honestly, I never got answers to them and it just ended up being frustrating for me.

If we are going to be radically different Christians, we are going to have a radically different approach to prayer and actually “believe” that God hears us instead of simply “hoping” and “wishing”.

Who prayed audacious prayers in the Bible? Hannah, Jabez, David, Elijah and guess who else? Yep, Jesus Christ Himself. Can I please hear it from some audacious men and women of faith who will speak to mountains in our generation?! Amen !

Amen to this!! It's easy for prayers to become routine and even feel scripted. Thank you for the reminder that our God can handle the bold prayers and even gave us amazing examples!

Hello Falen ! I always enjoy your feedback. It's always so upbeat. Yes indeed, God would have us come just as we are ! We have the greatest weapon on the earth and it is time we started whipping it out of our arsenal more often. God bless you ! Have a very beautiful week.

That is the kind of boldness in Christ that we all need in Christ. I pray that God will help us to be bold, so we can move mountains in our generation.

Amen my friend, amen! I love it...being radical for Christ! So tired of seeing believers living their lives as if our God doesn't have our best interest at heart. He loves us madly and we should live as if He does! Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely Michell. It's tiring for ME to live that way and I am glad God gives us a way out ! God bless you.
